American Red Cross

With the devastation of Hurricane Katrina having thrown the Gulf region into massive chaos, Jeanine Moss and Nicole DeMeo were granted first responder status and rushed to American Red Cross headquarters in Washington D.C. to be part of the solutions. Running the global media desk and acting as spokespeople, we developed communications strategies, coordinated with government organizations, answered media inquiries, and responded to urgent issues on the ground by directing resources to where they were needed most. Recognizing that crises were emerging out in the field, Jeanine was sent to the Gulf region to meet with shelter managers and other relief leaders to assess potential impacts and report back to ARC leadership for strategic planning.
